North Kingstown Deputy Chief Condemns Police Brutality
Deputy Chief Steven St. Onge asks residents not to paint all police officers by "the disturbing and horrific actions of a few."

NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI — As the national discussion about instances of police brutality threatens to fracture the public's relationship with those charged with protecting and serving residents in many communities, North Kingstown Deputy Police Chief Steven St. Onge is asking town residents not to let the actions of some officers paint their opinion of all police.
"Please don't let the disturbing and horrific actions of a few tarnish the badges of the many who truly want to do all we can to keep our communities a safe place," St. Onge said in a letter to the community. "We look forward to working with organizations that promote equality, as well as develop solutions to building better relationships."
St. Onge said the North Kingstown Police Department condemns "all horrific and unnecessary action of any law enforcement officer who undermines the trust in their community."
