North Kingstown High Named RI's Athletics School Of The Year
The George Nasuti School of the Year Award presentation comes weeks after the death of athletic director and coaching legend Dick Fossa.
NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI — North Kingstown is calling its latest recognition for athletic excellence a tribute to late athletic director Dick Fossa.
The school accepted the Rhode Island Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association George Nasuti School of the Year Award just weeks after it mourned the passing of Fossa.
"This award wouldn't be possible without Coach Fossa's tireless efforts and dedication to the athletes and coaches at NK," the North Kingstown Athletics Department posted on its social media account. "He has forever earned a place in our hearts and left an indelible mark in the history of NK Athletics. He will be sorely missed Coach, Mentor and Friend."

Fossa coached football and was the athletic director at Narragansett High before coming to North Kingstown High as its AD in 2017. He coached Narragansett to two Super Bowl championships during his 14 years and helped oversee a dominant stretch in North Kingstown athletics over the past three years.
