North Kingstown Man Charged With Transmitting Obscene Images
The U.S. District Attorney's Office said Neil Streich, 57, sent obscene images of himself to someone he believed to be a 10-year-old girl.
NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI —A North Kingstown man accused of transferring obscene images to a minor appeared in U.S. District Court on Wednesday to face charges that he transferred images of himself to someone he believed to be a 10-year-old girl.
The U.S. Attorney's Office said that for approximately three months Neil Streich, 57, communicated with someone he believed to be a 10-year-old girl from Pennsylvania. According to court documents, he requested photos to show she was the age she said she was. Three days after receiving non-sexually explicit images from the person he believed to be the young girl, Streich is accused of sending obscene images of himself to the person, who was actually an undercover FBI Special Agent.
FBI Agents, North Kingstown police and the United States Marshals Service conducted a warrant search of his residence and seized electronic equipment.

Streich was released on unsecured bond. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney John J. McAdams.
A federal criminal complaint is merely an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
