North Kingstown Opens Summer Playground Registration

With the state allowing summer camps starting June 29, North Kingstown is offering modified summer camps with registration open on Tuesday.

NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI —Summer camp is in session in North Kingstown this summer after all.

The town opened registration for its Parks & Recreation Playgrounds Camp 2020 on Tuesday for a modified program amid the coronavirus health crisis under state and CDC guidelines.

Residents can register here, by mail at 100 Fairway Drive, by using one of the two drop-off boxes at Fairway Drive or through making an appointment at 401-268-1540 to fill out a packet in person.

Financial aid is available. Since North Kingstown Town Hall is closed during normal business hours due to the health emergency, financial aid inquiries can be made through email at recreationsecretary@northkingstown.org.

In-person registration will be conducted during "off hours" for summer programming, financial aid and beach pass sales on June 3 from 4:30 to 7 p.m., June 14 from 9 a.m. to noon and June 20 from noon to 4 p.m.

During the "off hours" registration, only four people will be allowed in the building at any one time. There will be a sign-in sheet when you arrive a the building where you can write a name and phone number, and you will be called in your call when it is time to come inside.

Masks are required. Cash or check payment will be accepted with residents asked to bring their own pen, if possible.
