North Kingstown's Charlotte Simmons Earns Student-Athlete Award
North Kingstown High senior is a three-sport standout and is ranked in the top 5 percent of her class.
NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI — North Kingstown senior Charlotte Simmons has been named the Rhode Island Interscholastic League Student-Athlete of the Month for January. Simmons is a soccer and track standout for the Skippers and is also ranked in the top five percent of her class.
The goal of this RIIL program is to recognize the outstanding efforts of student-athletes in Rhode Island high school athletic programs who excel in the classroom, excel during competition, participate in multiple school-sponsored sports and demonstrate good citizenship in their school and community.
Simmons, who plans to play soccer at Central Connecticut State University next year, was named to the Providence Journal All-State team despite missing half of her senior season with a knee injury. She has also been named to both All-Division and All-Academic teams in indoor and outdoor track and has qualified for States during the past two seasons.

Simmons a member of National Honor Society and is involved with NK's Leadership Club where she assists with Unified Sports, including the middle school cross country championships held at North Kingstown High.
She will attend CCSU where she has a scholarship for soccer.
