North Kingstown's St. Bernard's Tee Ball Program Starts June 11th
Now in its 3rd year, the St. Bernard's Church Tee Ball program introduces kids age 3-6 to the game of baseball.
North Kingstown's St. Bernard's Church Tee Ball program is set to begin Tuesday, June 11th. This local Tee Ball program is open to kids ages 3 to 6 years of age. The program is headed by a well known and well respected local baseball family, The Cooneys. Ed Cooney, Jr has indeed carried on the tradition of promoting baseball in our town through his work with this Tee Ball program. A tradition his father, Ed Cooney, started with his tireless and unselfish efforts to make baseball a part of the fabric of North Kingstown sports. The Majors Field at Wilson Park has recently been renamed "Cooney Field."

The St. B's Tee Ball program runs for 3 weeks starting Tuesday June 11th. The sessions are the 11th, 18th, and 25th - all Tuesday nights. Each program runs from 5:30 to 6:30. The program takes place at St. Bernard's Church, which is located across from Wickford Middle School on Tower Hill Rd. There is plenty of parking at the church. The cost is $35 per player and includes a hat, T-shirt, and an end of the year cookout following the final practice. All North Kingstown and surrounding area towns are welcome to participate. Here is a printable form for registration:
For more information about the league, feel free to contact Ed Cooney, Jr at edcooneyjr@gmail.com. Also, if you would like to volunteer during the practices, Ed welcomes you to contact him to discuss coaching opportunities. Tee Ball program starts Tuesday night at 5:30 and you can bring this registration to the practice. A hearty welcome to all players new to the game of baseball. And thank you to St. Bernard's Church and the Cooney family for continuing this wonderful tradition of promoting baseball in the Town of North Kingstown.
