Obituary: Dorothea O. (Brown) Parmentier, 93

Mrs. Parmentier worked as a secretary for The Orange Flower of Wickford and at Quonset Naval Base.

Dorothea O. (Brown) Parmentier, 93, of Warwick, formerly of North Kingstown and Prudence Island, began her next journey on November 2. She left peacefully surrounded by her loving children, Winifred Ann Parmentier and David C. Parmentier, her granddaughter, Hayley Parmentier, and all her friends. She was the wife of the late Henk Parmentier. Born in Cranston, she was the daughter of the late Herbert W. Brown and Olive (Allendorf) Brown.             

Mrs. Parmentier worked as a secretary for the Fireman's Mutual Indemnity Insurance Company of Providence. She was a seamstress at The Orange Flower of Wickford and worked at Quonset Naval Base.  She was a former member of the First Baptist Church in East Greenwich and a member of the Ladies Club of Prudence Island, where she lived for 23 years.             

She leaves her two devoted children: Winifred A. Parmentier of Cranston and David C. Parmentier and his companion Joanne Sapers of Warwick. Cherished grandmother of Hayley K. Parmentier of Providence. She was the sister of the late Robert W. Brown.

The family wishes to thank all the people that cared for her. They helped her with love and compassion to prepare her for this next journey. The family wishes to thank Debbie Mottola, Linda Kathy Craig, Kathy Anderson, Karyn Jones and Cornerstone Adult Services, Scalabrini Villa and Home and Hospice care of Rhode Island for their kindness and gentle care.           

Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Tuesday, Nov. 5, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Cranston-Murphy Funeral Home of Wickford, 140 West Main St., Wickford Village, North Kingstown, with a service to follow at 7 p.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory to Cornerstone Adult Services, 140 Warwick Neck Ave, Warwick, R.I. 02889 will be appreciated.
