KETTELLE, Herman Grant "Pike", 86, of Exeter, died peacefully at home on Monday, April, 18, 2016.

KETTELLE, Herman Grant “Pike”, 86, of Exeter, died peacefully at home on Monday, April, 18, 2016. He was the loving husband of the late Phyllis M. (Chisholm) Kettelle. Born in East Greenwich, he was a son of the late Herman B. Kettelle and Evelyn A. (Huling) Kettelle.

Mr. Kettelle was the owner and operator of Kettelle Building Movers of North Kingstown for many years. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion Post 12. He was a member of the International Association of Structural Movers, New England Building Movers Association, a volunteer firefighter with the East Greenwich Station # 2, and was an avid Red Sox and New England Patriots fan.

He leaves his loving sons: Donald F. Pontarelli and his wife Carol of Santee, CA, Richard W. Pontarelli of Exeter, Scott G. Kettelle (Chief, NKFD) of Exeter, and the late Timothy G. Kettelle. Cherished grandfather of Dorrie Pontarelli of St. Cloud, FL, Donald Pontarelli of Cumberland, and Michelle Kettelle of West Warwick. He was the brother of the late Harold L. Kettelle, Nancy White, and Lena Novo.

A private graveside service with full Military Honors was held in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Exeter. Calling hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 245 Waterman Street, Suite 306, Providence, RI 02906 will be appreciated.
