Obituary: Joseph C. Kling, Jr., 85
A 20-year veteran of the U.S. Navy, Mr. Kling served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam.

Joseph C. Kling, Jr., 85, of North Kingstown, passed away happily in his chair Monday, Nov. 25. He was the husband of the late Theresa M. (Cummings) Kling.
Born in Mobile, Ala., he was the son of the late Joseph C. and Betty Lee (Catlin) Kling.
A 20-year veteran of the U.S. Navy, Mr. Kling served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of the American Legion Post 12 and the Fleet Reserve Branch 42.
After his retirement from the Navy, he worked at Carter's 19th Hole at the North Kingstown Golf Course, where he was known as "Joe the bartender" and was also a longtime member.
He leaves three children, Joseph C. Kling, III of Mass., Patrick L. Kling of Hendersonville, N.C. and Theresa M. Kling of Providence; two sisters, Betty Lee Parry of Pa. and Peggy Nadine Iber of Alexandria, Va.; five grandchildren, Patrick Roth, Cody, Joseph IV, John and James Kling; seven great-grandchildren; and two grand dogs, Oliver and Riley. He was the grandfather of the late Michael Roth.
His funeral will be held Tuesday, Dec. 3, at 8:45 a.m. from the FAGAN-QUINN Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Road, North Kingstown, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Bernard Church, 415 Tower Hill Road, North Kingstown. Burial with Military Honors will be in R.I. Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Monday, Dec. 2, from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Home & Hospice Care of R.I., 1085 North Main Street, Providence, R.I. 02904 will be appreciated.Â
