Pet Of The Week: Logan
Logan was living in a feral cat colony, but he's come a long way since he started living at Pet Refuge. Now, he's ready for a forever home.

By Rachel Wells, Pet Refuge
Logan is a sweet, sensitive boy who is looking for his furever home here at the Pet Refuge. Logan was living in a feral community up until about a month and a half ago when he was trapped and brought to our shelter. He was feeling scared, alone, and confused when he first arrived and has taken some time to adjust to shelter life. When he first got to the Refuge he would just sit in his litter box or wedge himself as far back into the corner of the cage as he could, looking at us warily with those big emerald eyes. He’d flatten himself like a pancake anytime anyone came near or he’d hiss a warning to passerby’s and the staff who fed him. Slowly but surely, he has begun to trust us and we’ve discovered that he’s actually a big mush! All the times he was giving us a “warning” he was actually telling us how scared he was: how he didn’t understand what was happening to him, why he was there or what our motives were.
Day by day Logan trusts more, loves more and his heart heals more. He is still cautious when meeting new people. He’ll still hiss every now and then, but never lashes out. Once we start petting this guy he melts into your hand and if you stop suddenly he’ll look at you like, “why’d you stop? A little to the left!” He loves feeding time and will almost always ask for seconds but the thing this tuxedo boy loves most is being held (once he knows you of course). All around, we see a lot of potential with this little man. He’s already blossomed so much in the short time he has been with us. He just needs a quiet home, a gentle touch and a human to love him.
