Pet Of The Week: Sammy
Sammy's a little shy, and he's still looking for a forever home. A family with older children would be ideal.

By Rachel Wells, Pet Refuge
Sammy-sweetheart here. I’m a shy yet sweet 11 month old tabby who’s looking for someone to shower me with love. I came to the Pet Refuge as a six month old kitten. My sibling and I were born outside and a kind lady was feeding us until it started to get cold. Then one day we found ourselves at The Pet Refuge. My brother, Sully, was more trusting of the new people than I was and it took me some time to feel safe being handled by them. Overtime, and with a little bit of TLC from my caretakers, my true colors were able to shine and I showed them the playful, loving, cuddly kitty that I am. I was adopted into a home with my brother recently, but I was not as confident as he and unfortunately, I was returned.
I tried to tell the nice people that I needed more than a few days to come out of my shell but still found myself back with my newfound friends at the shelter. I’m hoping that my next home will be a furever one and that a nice couple or family with older children who understand my initial shyness, will come in soon to spend some time with me. I promise to show what a sweet and loving boy I am just as long as you promise to give me a little time to adjust to your lifestyle. If you’d like to meet me or any of my other feline friends looking for their furever people stop by the shelter located at 500 Stony Lane, North Kingstown or call my caretakers at 401-294-1115. I can’t wait to meet you.
