The Rhode Island State Archives is organizing the first ever transcription party and is seeking citizen archivists to be involved.
Archivists will be exploring and transcribing handwritten documents and manuscripts to bring 21st century approachability to these important records.
Transcribers will get a firsthand view of genuine manuscripts written by Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton, Abraham Lincoln, and more.

Then using digitally enhanced scans, the transcribers will examine and transcribe each document via laptop.
No experience is necessary. Just the ability to read and type with a love for history.
