Last debate, the candidates spent the night on the attack, calling each other "political insiders" and questioning each other's ability to lead. Gov. Raimondo (Democrat) and Mayor Allan Fung (Republican) in particular were put on the spot by moderators and each other for their public mishaps.

Raimondo was attacked during the first debate on Sept. 27 for major computer system failures with 2016's Unified Health Infrastructure Project (UHIP), a $364 million computer software designed to integrate 48 different federal and state welfare programs.

Raimondo countered by highlighting Fung's interfering with police business to the point that Rhode Island state police had to investigate the city's police department.

Both candidates also spent significant time addressing school safety and their differing views on who should and shouldn't be armed in schools.

Since, the first debate, independent candidate Joe Trillo has picked up the endorsement of House Minority Lead Patricia Morgan, who ran against Fung during the Republican Primary. It will be worth watching how much Fung handles challenges from both the left and right.
