Senator Sheehan restates his top agenda items prior to the September 12 primary election

North Kingstown - In reminding voters of the primary election on Wednesday, September 12, Sen. James C. Sheehan (D-Dist. 36, North Kingstown, Narragansett) restated his top agenda items if honored with re-election.
Included among the legislation, Sen. Sheehan committed to re-introducing the creation of a gubernatorial line-item-veto power, the assurance of baseline school aid to communities, the establishment of public funds for General Assembly races, requirements for merit selections for court magistrates and allowing physicians a say in the maintenance of certification programs. He also promised to re-introduce two bills to create the “Office of Inspector General” and to prevent the use of justice-inhibiting non-disclosure agreements that conceal cases of sexual harassment or assault.

Regarding his agenda, Sen. Sheehan stated, “I believe that my prospective agenda continues to chart a course that will continue to make a difference in the lives and quality of life of the residents of Narragansett & North Kingstown, as well as our state. As such, I respectfully ask for the support of the voters of District 36 in the upcoming September 12 Primary Election.”
