As a 20 year member of the Exeter Planning Board and now as a candidate for the Exeter Town Council I have presented myself with a positive and honest message. I don’t believe in negative and disingenuous campaigning like that by the Exeter Republican Town Committee. This is the strategy of a campaign that is depraved of any positive message and lack of integrity.
Their recent Mailer claims that I am “SHAMEFUL” for a development approved unanimously by the Planning Board located in the Oak Harbour Village property under a Comprehensive Permit process that is mandated by state law promoting affordable housing. There is nothing shameful in fulfilling my duties as a member of the Planning Board. WHAT IS SHAMEFUL IS THEIR BLATANT LIE THAT IT WILL RAISE THE PROPERTY TAX FOR EACH HOMEOWNER AN ADDITIONAL $1,100 EACH YEAR! This is just an unsubstantiated scare tactic.

The same Mailer also claims that I am IRRESPONSIBLE for simply performing my duties as an unbiased member of the Planning Board sworn to support the town’s Comprehensive Plan. IN-FACT WHAT IS IRRESPONSIBL IS THEIR BLATANT MISREPRESENTATION OF MY PERFORMANCE AS A MEMBER OF THE PLANNING BOARD!
Their unwavering support for their favored developers and special interests has left Exeter in a chaotic mess with respect to large scale solar development in residential zones. Their irresponsible actions have resulted in multiple large scale solar applications and currently two court actions against the town. This may only be the beginning of a string of litigation against the town spawned by their irresponsible actions as the council majority.
This lack of integrity and honesty is typical of the type of governance displayed by the incumbent town councilors Dan Patterson, Frank Maher, and Ray Morrissey. It is the primary reason that prompted my decision to be a candidate for the Exeter Town Council.
A SMEAR CAMPAIGN is all they have to promote their candidacy for the Town Council! Exeter deserves better; please vote for me and the Democratic candidates for the Town Council on November 6, 2018.
