Water Safe For NK Residents
If you get a bill from North Kingstown Water Department, you are NOT affected by the Kent Co. Water Authority advisory.

North Kingstown residents do not have to boil their water or use bottled water, said Tim Cranston of the NK Water Department.Â
"If you get a bill from the North Kingstown Water Department, you are OK," said Cranston. The town supplies water to all North Kingstown residents.
Customers of Kent County Water Authority in neighboring East Greenwich and the Potowomut section of Warwick have been advised to boil their water because of contamination from E. coli bacteria.
Confusion has developed because North Kingstown residents who have an 885 or 884 phone number prefix got an automated call from the town of East Greenwich alerting them to boil water. That is not necessary, said Cranston.
In addition, some news reports have said "parts of North Kingstown." Cranston said only two shopping plazas are affected – the plaza at Post Road and Frenchtown Road with Salk's Hardware and the Mill Stores, and the strip mall just beyond it on Frenchtown Road.Â
The Stop & Shop plaza is NOT affected.
