Wickford Businesses Launch 3rd Annual Fundraiser to Benefit NK Food Pantry
The fundraiser, which will last through the month of August, is intended to give the food pantry a boost to help them serve the town's families who rely on it to keep food on the table and replace meals children normally get during the school day.
The folks at JW Graham and Yes! Gallery in Wickford Village are almost ready to start kicking off their third annual "Feed the Pantry" fundraiser to benefit the North Kingstown Food Panty.
The fundraiser, which will last through the month of August, is intended to give the food pantry a boost to help them serve the town's families who rely on it to keep food on the table and replace meals children normally get during the school day.
It's hard for some families to make ends meet during the summer without the help of the Food Pantry, and the owners of both Wickford businesses realize that a healthy and well-fed community helps everyone, including the business community.
"Over the past 2 years, the shops raised over $6,000 for the N.K. Food Pantry through customer and employee donations during this event," said Julie Beebe. "Customers, in turn, have saved equally as much with their coupons!"
Here's how it works. In August, donations made at both shops will be rewarded with a thank you coupon for future use. A $10 donation results in a 10 percent off coupon. A $20 donation nets a 20 percent off coupon and $30 brings 30 percent.
Along with the coupons, all employees of the shops will be contributing to a "Feed the Pantry" pool which will be matched by owners Palmer and Julie Beebe.
