Dimeo Construction To Build Tidewater Stadium In Pawtucket
Fortuitous Partners said Dimeo plans to break ground on the riverfront soccer stadium this fall, with a 2023 completion date.

PAWTUCKET, RI — Fortuitous Partners and Dimeo Construction Company plan to break ground on the Tidewater Landing stadium project this fall, and the venue will be completed by 2023, the developers said in a news release.
Fortuitous Partners announced today that they had selected Dimeo as the general contractor and project manager for the stadium project following a competitive bidding process.
Dimeo’s work includes URI’s Colleges of Engineering, General Dynamics Electric Boat production facilities at Quonset, the new Citizens Bank Johnston campus, RI Rapid Response Hospitals, and Hasbro Children’s Hospital renovations.

Fortuitous Partners founder Brett Johnson said the company is happy to be advancing to the construction phase.

“We could not be more excited to make Tidewater Landing a reality for Pawtucket, the Blackstone Valley and Rhode Island,” said Johnson. “We are looking forward to working with (Dimeo) to transform Pawtucket’s riverfront and create thousands of jobs and hundreds of millions of dollars of positive social and economic impact.”
Dimeo Construction president Brad Dimeo said the development "offers a once-in-a-generation opportunity for catalytic economic transformation, and will bring professional soccer, along with countless other sports and entertainment options to our state.”
Dimeo said Tidewater Landing is a “great example of the benefits of a public-private partnership” and that he’s confident the project “will be transformational for the City of Pawtucket and all of Rhode Island for decades to come."
The multi-use stadium will be home to Rhode Island’s new United Soccer League Championship club. The riverfront stadium will include restaurants, retail space, and public plazas.
The $284 million, 25-acre Tidewater Landing project will be built on six parcels on both sides of the Seekonk River and developed in two phases.
Phase One consists of 435 residential units with a 150-space garage, 60,000 square feet of commercial space, 56,750 square feet of retail and restaurant space along with the stadium and its 750-space parking garage, It will include a riverwalk, pedestrian bridge, public plazas, streetscape improvements, surface parking, and utility and stormwater upgrades, Fortuitous Partners said.
Phase 2 will likely consist of an indoor entertainment and event venue, as well as a hotel, the developers said.
Mayor Donald Grebien on Wednesday issued an enthusiastic statement.
"We are excited to see the progression of the Tidewater Landing project," said Grebien. "Fortuitous Partners continues to be an amazing partner and we are happy to have Dimeo Construction on board. We can't wait to see the completion of this project and the first games being played in 2023. This project will transform our riverfront for decades to come."
