Calls for Hathaway School Book Cover Ad is a Scam, PBA Warns

The Portsmouth Business Association is warning local merchants.

PORTSMOUTH, RI—Scammers are preying on the good will of local business owners in Portsmouth.

The Portsmouth Business Association is warning its members and businesses in the area that recent calls soliciting ads for the “Hathaway School Book Cover” are bogus.

Board Member John Vit reported he got a call from a woman who claimed to be “Jenny,” offering ads for $399.

A call to the school revealed that spending any money with “Jenny” is a bad idea.

“I called Hathaway School, with Emily Rahilly. She said: ‘DON’T DO IT,’” Vit said. “This company has not delivered the book covers from September 2015 yet.”
