Clock Tower Square Hosts Block Party Thursday Night

PORTSMOUTH, RI—Kids cooped up too much this summer? If you're looking for a last minute thing to do in Portsmouth tonight (Thursday) consider swinging by Clock Tower Square for a block party from 4 to 8 p.m.

The merchants in the square are trying to drum up business and interest from new customers and one way is to host this festive gathering. They'll be joined by vendors and merchants from the surrounding area, too, including PortNPaddock from Newport, Simmons Farm from Middletown, Celebration Boards from Barrington and SeaHeather Studios, also from Newport.

Children will get a chance to meet some firefighters and oogle a big red fire engine. Meet cute puppies from the East Greenwich Animal Recue League (there will be opportunities to give them some support, too).

Clock Tower Square has been undergoing a steady evolution into a genuine economic and business hub along West Main Road in Portsmouth. Along with traditional marketing of retail, foodservice and medical and office units, Clock Tower Square is trying raise its profile using social media and community outreach.
