The Herren Project Recognizes Communities of Little Compton, Tiverton and Portsmouth, RI

Local communities and schools "Go Purple" in support of The Herren Project's national anti-substance abuse campaign, THP Project Purple.

On January 26, 2015, The Herren Project launched the 2015 THP Project Purple initiative nationwide with the goal of reinforcing positive decision making and showing support for all those touch by substance abuse.

Based in Portsmouth, RI with offices in Tiverton, RI, The Herren Project team was overwhelmed with the support of the local communities who embraced the THP Project Purple initiative and the 2015 “I AM” Campaign. From the purple ribbons, bows, banners and lights to the town council declarations and support from local police and fire departments, The Herren Project would like to extend a special thank you to the Little Compton, Tiverton and Portsmouth, RI Prevention Coalitions and local communities for standing up and together with THP in 2015, Purple and Proud! Thank you for joining over 400 “Go Purple” sites nationwide and for making a difference one person, one family at a time.

Project Purple is an initiative of The Herren Project, a non-profit foundation established by Chris Herren, former professional basketball player, motivational speaker, author and sobriety advocate, that assists individuals and families struggling with addiction through treatment navigation, education and mentoring. The THP Project Purple Initiative empowers youth to stand up and make a difference and reinforces the message that they do not need drugs and alcohol to meet life’s challenges; that they are perfect the way they are.
