Nature Discovery: Pond Edition

While the warm summer air lingers, there is much activity below the surface of Red Maple Pond. At this time of year, migrating shorebirds are expected to drop in at this freshwater pond too. Our education staff will share a rare opportunity for the public to use dip nets in our protected pond. Discover tadpoles, dragonfly nymphs, aquatic macroinvertebrates, and sunning painted turtles. Adults are encouraged to assist small children at the edge of the water.
