One Day Left to RSVP for Newport Irish Museum's Annual Benefit
"Summer at the Steps" brings Irish music, hors d'oeuvres, a variety of food stations, a hosted bar, desserts and a silent auction.

“Summer at the Steps,” the 6th Annual Benefit for the Museum of Newport Irish History’s Interpretive Center, will be held Saturday, June 27 at 6:30 p.m. at Ochre Court, Salve Regina University, Newport. In the spirit of the summertime music and dancing at the nearby Forty Steps by the Irish of Newport in the late 1800s and early 1900s, traditional Irish music will be played by The Publicans, and guests may enjoy the terrace and grounds of the mansion, which overlook the Cliff Walk. Tickets are $95 per person and are inclusive of hors d’oeuvres, a variety of food stations, a hosted bar, desserts and a silent auction.

The Museum’s Interpretive Center at 648 Lower Thames Street, just south of Narragansett Avenue, is now open for the season. The 2015 Season hours are 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m., Thursday through Sunday, through Sunday, November 1. Proceeds from “Summer at the Steps” will fund Interpretive Center operating expenses and enhancements to Center displays.

The Museum of Newport Irish History is a non-profit organization of over 600 members. Founded in 1996, its Mission is to tell the story of Irish immigrants in Newport County from the 1600s to the present, to preserve artifacts and mementoes of their experience, and to facilitate research into Irish heritage.
