Parking Ban In Portsmouth, Trash Delay For Snowstorm

No snow day for students: Portsmouth students will be learning from home.

PORTSMOUTH, RI — A parking ban has been declared in Portsmouth ahead of a significant snowstorm expected to hit the state starting Wednesday night.

It's bad news for kids looking for a snow day, however. All Portsmouth students will be learning from home Thursday, with synchronous and asynchronous plans in place to accommodate students who may not have wifi access due to a power outage, the school department said.

The parking ban will go into effect at 7 p.m. and last through 9 p.m. on Thursday.
