Portsmouth Cops Growing Beards For A Good Cause
Portsmouth officers will raise money for Home Base No Shave during the month of November.
PORTSMOUTH, RI — Some of Portsmouth's finest will swear off shaving for a good cause next month. Throughout November, the police department will be taking part in Home Base No Shave, a fundraiser to provide mental health care to veterans and their families.
Officers taking part in the fundraiser have each pledged to donate or raise at least $100 each throughout the month. In all, the department hopes to raise $1,500 for the organization. Members of the public can give to Portsmouth's campaign on Home Base's website.
"Please consider donating to our department’s page. This is a great way for our community to make an impact, together," the department wrote on Facebook.
