Portsmouth Crews Attack Bristol Ferry Road Fire
The first alarm came in shortly after 10 p.m.

PORTSMOUTH, RI — Crews attacked a fire Wednesday night at a two-family property on Bristol Ferry Road. According to Portsmouth fire Chief Paul Ford, no one was injured, and the fire is not considered suspicious. The fire marshal was at the scene Thursday morning investigating. The cause has not yet been determined.
The Red Cross said it is helping two families (four adults and five children) and provided for their immediate needs.
Chief Ford said the first alarm was reported at 10:05 p.m. Firefighters arrived in three minutes. They were finished at 12:46 a.m.

"There was not a tremendous amount of structural damage," he said. The chief described the building as "side by side townhouses."
