Portsmouth Holding E-Waste Collection Event On September 14
Get rid of old TVs, computers and more this weekend at Portsmouth High School.
PORTSMOUTH, RI — Clean out your basement and get rid of your old TVs, computers and other electronics for free this weekend at Portsmouth High School. Items will be accepted regardless of age or condition.
The collection will be held from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the school, located at 20 Education Lane. If you miss this weekend's collection, another will be held on November 16.
The following items will be accepted:

- Computers
- Mice
- TVs
- Monitors
- Laptops
- Keyboards
- CD and DVD players
- Disks
- Printers
- Toner catridges
- Speakers
- Wires
- Microwaves and other small household appliances
- Phones: all cell, cordless and land-line
- Stereos
- Lead-acid batteries
- Battery back-ups
- Auto/marine batteries
Any items containing coolant such as mini-fridges, air conditioners or dehumidifiers will be accepted for a $10 disposal fee.
