Portsmouth Library Looking To ID Mailbox Crasher
Someone crashed their car into the library's mailbox on Monday, rendering it completely unuseable.
PORTSMOUTH, RI — The Portsmouth Library is looking for the public's help in finding the person who crashed into their mailboxes on Monday afternoon. Anyone with information is urged to step forward.
The crash happened around 12 p.m., when someone hit the mailbox, completely knocking over the stand and rendering it unusable and forcing library staff to pick up the mail at the post office.
"Can you help us?" the library's staff wrote on Facebook. "[The driver] left the scene, leaving their bumper behind and our mailboxes smashed and unusable ... What a bummer!"

Portsmouth police checked camera footage from a nearby bank, but the security cameras were not angled properly to see the crash. Anyone with information is asked to reach out to the police or library staff.
