Portsmouth Library's Reading Area Reopens, Newspapers To Return

Starting June 1, patrons can peruse newspapers in the library's reading area, which is back open.

PORTSMOUTH, RI —As Rhode Island's coronavirus restrictions continue to loosen, changes are coming to the Portsmouth Public Library.

The library's reading area is back open for the first time since the initial pandemic shutdowns, and newspapers are set to return next month. Library staff requested delivery of newspapers starting June 1.

"We welcome you to come in and read them at your leisure!" staff said. "We can't wait to see you!"

Masks must be worn by all patrons while inside the library, and 3-foot spacing is required between people.
