According to the school officials, "Portsmouth Middle School is a place where character counts and that school citizenship is an integral part of a student’s total educational experience." To recognize students who excel in school citizenship, the school relies on "eight key values: integrity, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, love of country, civic duty, and work ethic." These qualities are "invaluable to our students' future development and our community," the school added.
