Portsmouth Patriots Looking To Rebound Against Barrington

Portsmouth Head Coach Matt Kestler's team needs to be ready for an explosive offensive attack.

PORSTMOUTH, RI — After a rough start to the football season with a lopsided 56-14 loss to North Kingstown, the Portsmouth High School Patriots will try to rebound Friday at home against Barrington. The game kicks off at 7 p.m.

Both teams will be hungry as Barrington is also looking for their first win of the young season. Last week, Barrington lost a tough one against Cranston East 43-42 in overtime.

"They are a spread team that likes to run a lot of motion and option," Kestler said. "So, playing responsibility defense will be key. Everyone has to do their own job."

In order for Portsmouth to be successful, the Patriots need to make up for their size with toughness and athleticism. Kestler is optimistic that his team can fix the mistakes it made last week.
