Portsmouth Police Looking To Find Scammer

Residents of the Common Fence Point neighborhood are asked to check their security cameras for a white van.

PORTSMOUTH, RI — Portsmouth police are looking for the public's help in finding the person who scammed an elderly woman out of thousands of dollars. Anyone who lives in the Common Fence Point Area and has a security camera is urged to help in the investigation.

The scam happened between 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Tuesday by a person driving a white cargo van.

Residents of the area are asked to check their security cameras for footage of the van, as it could help identify the suspect. Anyone with information they believe could help in the investigation can reach out to Detective D’Aguanno at 401-643-0165.
