PORTSMOUTH, RI—The weather is predicted to be nothing short of sizzling in Rhode Island. But by dusk, the air should be pleasant for a trip outside. Rhode Island has a slew of Independence Day celebrations. Even if your city or town isn't holding an event, there's certainly one nearby. Portsmouth is holding its Independence Day fireworks display at 9:15 p.m. on July 4. The show is at Escobar's Farm, 133 Middle Road. It starts at 9:15 p.m.
