PORTSMOUTH, RI — With April vacation less than a week away and summer vacation looming large, there are several important dates to mark on the calendar before the end of the school year in June. Here are five things to know for the remainder of the school year. A full day-by-day calendar of events is available here.

  1. Spring Recess April 15-19 Portsmouth students have a full-week spring recess, which includes Good Friday on April 19.
  2. Early Release: April 10 and May 15 Students will be dismissed one hour early on April 10 for a professional development day for staff and on May 15 for a professional development for teacher professional development.
  3. Memorial Day: May 27 Memorial Day weekend is the unofficial kickoff to the summer season and the last three-day weekend of the school year.
  4. High School Graduation: June 7
  5. Last Day of School (180th Day): June 17 The last day of school was originally scheduled for June 14, but it was pushed to the 17 by a snow day.
