Rhode Island Power Outages: Power Restored To All But 131 Customers

The storm knocked out power for thousands around the state, but most are back on the grid.

More than 14,000 customers were without power in Rhode Island, National Grid reported. There were approximately 33 outages across the state resulting in 14,267 customers affected as of 10:55 a.m.

Those number have dropped to about 17 outages leaving 131 without power as of 4:15 p.m.

The Narragansett area had more than half of 14,000+ customers without power, according to National Grid. Barrington had more than 62 outages leaving well over 3,000 in the dark. Cranston had a couple hundred folks in the dark as the outages thinned out considerably in the northern half of the state.

Many of the outages were fixed by 12:30-12:45 p.m. The rest are expected to be back by 6:15, except for Exeter, where they are still assessing the sitn.atio

The outages are courtesy of a huge storm moving through Rhode Island with strong winds and heavy rain.
