RI Weather Forecast: Severe Thunderstorm Warning
A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for much of the state.
The storm is on the move, forcing into effect a severe thunderstorm warning across most of Rhode Island. A flash flood watch is still in effect for the rest of Eastern and much of Central Massachusetts, in case you're on the road today.
Much of Rhode Island and Bristol County in Mass. are under a severe thunderstorm warning for the potential of wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour, heavy rain, lightning, and perhaps even small hail. That warning is expected to last until 10:45 a.m.
There are currently more than 14,000 National Grid customers without power throughout Rhode Island.
