10 Residents Displaced Following House Fire In Providence

The fire broke out around 5 p.m Sunday on Goddard Street.

PROVIDENCE, RI — Ten residents have been displaced following a fire at 23 Goddard St. in Providence Sunday evening, said Providence Deputy Assistant Fire Chief Stephen Houle.

Firefighters responded to the multi-family home at approximately 5 p.m. and were clearing the scene by 7 p.m.

The home sustained heavy smoke, fire, and water damage and the American Red Cross is assisting the four families, six adults and four children, who have been displaced.

Houle said everyone got out safely and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
