8 Men Indicted For Sexual Assault On Unconscious Teen

The men face charges including first degree sexual assault, failure to report a sexual assault, and possession of child pornography.

PROVIDENCE, RI—Eight men have been indicted for their involvement in the sexual assault of an unconscious 16-year-old girl at a Providence home in December.

According to a statement released by Attorney General Peter Nerohna on Tuesday, sometime between December 18 and December 20, 2019, several defendants sexually assaulted the unconscious victim and videotaped portions of it. None of the assailants or bystanders reported the sexual assault to police.

The Providence County Grand Jury returned the 13-count indictment on Friday. The defendants range from 19 to 25 years of age and face charges including first degree sexual assault, assault with intent to commit sexual assault, conspiracy to commit sexual assault, failure to report a sexual assault, possession of child pornography, and obstruction of the judicial system.

The investigation was conducted by the Providence Police Department and the defendants are scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on November 25.
