Elsewhere to perform at The Met in Pawtucket October 17, 2018

August 31 was release date for MultiMan E.P., follow up to Elsewhere's Critically Acclaimed 1981 Extended Play

Elsewhere is a band that bridges the gap from the early 1990's to the music of 2018, 25 years on the circuit, the band's anniversary of their 1993 debut at TT The Bear's Club coinciding with the anniversary of Club Bohemia at The Kirkland, where Elsewhere also performed.

Multi-Man, the title track of the release, conjures up images of King Crimson - "20th Century Schizoid Man" and such, and the music actually identifies itself with sci-fi prog rock. Truth be told, though, it's a song about love addiction and having multiple partners and dealing with the inevitable fallout from juggling liaisons

"We've Got a Movement" has the pop-prog rock outfit embracing the Jefferson Airplane "Volunteers" / "We Should Be Together" "got a revolution" philosophy. Perhaps a nice addition to a DVD re-release of The Strawberry Statement epic film from that bygone era as "Mrs. Robinson" by The Lemonheads got added to a The Graduate special edition.

Sunday, August 26, 2018 drummer Adam Soucy, bassist Kevin "Thundersnow" Swaluk and lead singer / guitarist Michael Aroian opened for The Blasters at the Brighton Music Hall. It was an impressive performance with clips of it probably floating around on Vimeo or YouTube. If you find one you can feel the energy blasting out from the former Harper's Ferry stage in the Allston/Brighton area which has changed so much in the past 20 years.

"Don't You Believe Me Baby" has gotten the band lots of traction. Their re-make of a demo from Sting created for, but dropped from, the Ghost in the Machine album is pure Elsewhere, and breathes new life into a song that Sting ostensibly did not further pursue.

A terrific review in the JW Vibe https://www.jwvibe.com/single-... gives information on the new E.P. and is worth reading.

The power trio will be performing at The Met in Pawtucket Rhode Island on October 17

Catch them as they pick and choose their shows carefully.

Prior to Soucy and Swaluk joining the group there is an interesting interview which aired on Worcester's Video Jam show

https://www.wccatv.com/video/v... from 2013. Worth watching to see a different phase of the group's history
