PROVIDENCE, RI — A muggy and humid Saturday will soon include some serious storms across Rhode Island. The National Weather Service issued a special statement informing residents about strong storms coming down the pipe Saturday afternoon and evening.

The National Weather Service reports storms could bring the risk of localized flooding and high winds. A cold front will move into southern New England in the afternoon bringing a line of strong to severe storms with the potential for frequent lightning and localized heavy downpours.

Scattered storms could start in the afternoon with more serious thunderstorms developing in the evening and even a tiny chance of hail, that's right hail. Watch those trees and power lines in your neighborhood, gusty winds are expected with speeds around 10 to 15 mph.
