Overnight Exit Closures At Providence Place Mall Start June 3
Exits 22 B and C on I-95 North will be closed during overnight hours from Sunday to Thursday nights until the middle of June.
PROVIDENCE, RI — Head's up to overnight commuters: overnight exit closures are coming to down town Providence. Starting Monday, Exits 22 B and C on Interstate-95 North will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for bridge work. The overnight closures are expected to last until mid-June.
The exits will be closed on Sunday through Thursday nights to minimize traffic impacts. I-95 South and Exit 22 A on I-95 North will not be affected by the detour.
During the closure, drivers will be detoured to the State Offices and Route 146 exit.

Turn-by-turn detour directions:
- I-95 North to Exit 23 (State Offices/Route 146)
- Turn right onto Orms Street
- Turn right onto Douglas Avenue
- Turn right onto the on-ramp to I-95 South
- Take I-95 South to Exit 22 B (Route 6 West)

According to the Rhode Island Department of Transportation, the bridge work is part of a $10.4 million, seven-bridge project in the city. During construction, crews will repair bridge joints and railings, along with other improvements.
