Point Street Dueling Pianos Bar Searching For New Location
The popular Davol Square nightspot unexpectedly closed on Monday after eight years in downtown Providence.
PROVIDENCE, RI — After eight years of bachelorette parties, birthday celebrations and thousands of song requests, Point Street Dueling Pianos closed its doors for good on Monday. The Davol Square bar has been a popular Providence nightspot since it opened eight years ago. On Tuesday, the bar's owners said they are looking to relocate after unexpectedly losing their space.
The bar's owners said the closure was out of their control, with ongoing construction and the loss of their parking lot affecting attendance and their sudden inability to stay in the Davol Square building leaving no other options. The bar won't go down without a fight though, as the owners are already looking for a new location.
"We are exploring options to relocate and make the piano bar better than ever!" read a message posted to Facebook on Tuesday. "We still have the assets, equipment, and entertainers." Please reach out to us with any leads on a space that could seat 150-200 people with a stage and has a patio."
