Providence Labor Day 2018: What's Open?

Send all your Labor Day picnic pictures to jimmy.bentley@patch.com

PROVIDENCE, RI — The kids are already back in school in most Rhode Island towns and although the rest go back next week, they have Monday off for Labor Day. I hope you do too. With temperatures in the high eighties and little chance of rain, it should be a good day for one more summer barbecue with friends and family.

For some of us though work, errands, and life go on. Here's a list of what's open and closed in case you do need to get out of the house:

  • Retail Stores - open
  • Liquor stores - most are open
  • Groceries - most open
  • Restaurants - most are open
  • Banks - closed
  • State offices - closed
  • Town offices - closed
  • Schools - closed
  • Libraries - closed
  • RIPTA (bus) - holiday schedule
  • Federal offices - closed
  • Mail delivery - no
  • Trash pickup - one day delay

Have a great Labor Day! Send all your Labor Day picnic pictures to jimmy.bentley@patch.com
