Providence's Virtual Tree Lighting Rescheduled For Weekend Storm
Tune in for the virtual celebration on Tuesday evening.

PROVIDENCE, RI — Providence's virtual tree lighting was postponed this Saturday due to inclement weather. City officials invited the public to join the rescheduled event online on Tuesday evening.
The annual event features Mayor Jorge Elorza, as well as Rhode Show host Brendan Kirby. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, this year's lighting is being held virtually, and will be livestreamed on the mayor's Facebook page starting at 5 p.m.
The event is held each year as a partnership between Elorza's office and the city's Department of Art, Culture and Tourism. This year's will also feature a special performance from the Nutcracker by Festival Ballet Providence.
