RI Weather: More Snow On The Way, How Much, When

The snow may be dwindling, but round two is just around the corner; so don't put away the snow shovels just yet. A second storm could bring as much as 7 inches of heavy snow to parts of the state making the Monday commute tricky.

The National Weather Service has put a Winter Storm Watch in effect from Sunday evening to Monday morning for parts of Providence and Kent county. And forecasters are already warning folks that the commute to work on Monday could be slick.

Forecasters expect the rest of Saturday to be mostly cloudy, with a low around 24 as snow tapers off. Then tonight, look for a high near 39, which could help melt what's on the ground.

But not for long. before 1 a.m., forecasters expect snow to start up again and mix with rain, as temps hover around freezing. Rhode Island could get between 3 and 7 inches more of snow.

Then on Monday rain and snow are likely to continue during the morning commute, with a slight chance of flurries between 11 a.m. and noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 39.
