Bacteria Closes Goddard State Park Beach In Warwick
RIDEM sampled the water again and is awaiting lab results, an agency spokesperson said Friday.

Update: Saturday, June 12: The beach has been reopened, a park official said.
WARWICK, RI — The swimming beach at Goddard Memorial State Park in Warwick was closed Thursday due to a high level of bacteria detected in the water.
The Rhode Island Department of Health made the recommendation, and the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management made the decision.

The DEM tested the water again and is awaiting lab results, agency spokesperson Gail Mastrati said today. When the results come back, DEM will determine if it's safe to re-open the beach for swimming.
