PROVIDENCE, RI — The T.F. Green Airport in Warwick is one step closer to getting a new name.

The Rhode Island Senate on Tuesday passed a bill that would change the name of T.F. Green Airport to "Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport." Now the House must take its own vote on the measure.

Advocates say putting "Rhode Island" in the airport's name will help with branding and market for travelers to and from the greater Providence region.
