Don's Pizza In Warwick Closes And Community Rallies To Help Owner
Donald Ryan, who ran the restaurant for 39 years, is undergoing cancer treatment.

Don's Pizza has been a Warwick tradition for four decades, but the popular restaurant is closing its doors because owner Donald Ryan is battling stage four cancer.
Ryan told ABC6 WLNE-TV that chemotherapy is taking its toll, both physically and emotionally. He has put the restaurant up for sale, and hopes to find a compatible buyer. He said following chemotherapy, he might open the restaurant on some days, here and there, depending upon how he feels.
Upon hearing that Ryan was sick, several loyal customers launched an online fundraiser to help with his medical bills and expenses. As of Monday morning, more than $7,000 had been raised toward a $10,000 goal.
