Mayor Frank Picozzi's Weekly Update: McDermott Pool & Gaspee Days

The Mayor is asking everyone to chip in to make the Gaspee Days Parade a reality — and he explained why they are crowdsourcing this year.

WARWICK, RI — Mayor Frank Picozzi in his weekly video address discussed fundraising for the Gaspee Days Parade, progress on potholes, the municipal budget process, and the McDermott Pool.

Organizers of the parade are trying to raise $35,000. Picozzi said because of the pandemic, they were not able to hold their primary fundraising events, including the popular 5K race. "We all need to get together; we all need to get the money raised," he said.

Progress is being made on the pool, and there is a commitment to "fixing it right and fixing it permanently," the mayor said. He said he hopes to see the pool reopened by the summer.
