Motorcyclist Badly Injured In Warwick Crash On Airport Road

Police say a 25-year-old man on a motorcycle crossed the center line and hit a Honda that was pulling out of a parking lot.

WARWICK, RI — A 25-year-old man is seriously injured and the driver of a Honda sedan is OK following a Monday night crash involving a car and a motorcycle.

Shortly after 11:30 p.m., Warwick police responded to the area of 777 Airport Rd. for the report of a crash. The operator of a motorcycle was unresponsive and lying in the westbound lane. Police say he was not wearing a helmet and suffered serious injuries. He was transported to Rhode Island Hospital and listed in stable condition, according to a release from Warwick Police Capt. Joel Thomas.

Police say it appears the motorcyclist was traveling eastbound when he crossed the center line. His motorcycle struck a four-door Honda sedan broadside as it entered the roadway from a parking lot. The female driver did not appear to be physically injured, and she had no passengers in the car. She and several witnesses stopped to render aid and cooperate with police.

The Warwick Police Department Crash Reconstruction Team is investigating. At this point, alcohol does not appear to be a factor. Any person with information is requested to contact Sgt.
